Valéry FRELAND, 45 years of age, diplomat. A diploma in advanced studies in communication law; a graduate of the political sciences institute in Paris; former student of the Ecole nationale d'administration, class "Léopold Sédar Senghor", class of 2004.  Valéry Freland was a legal expert at the Audiovisual high council (1994-1997), before joining the Minister of Foreign Affaires in 1997 where he was successively; project manager for external audiovisual media(1997-2001); Deputy assistant director-general for the department of european cooperation(2004-2007); the first secretary, advisor for culture/audiovisual media representing France for the European Union in Brussels (2007-2009); assistant director of  external audiovisual media and technology and communication (2009); diplomatic advisor for the minister of Culture and Communication(2009-2010); advisor for cultural cooperation and action, director of the French Institute in Tunisia (2010-2013); assistant director of academic and research based cultural cooperation (since September 2013).
