In 2008 Michelle Constant took the position of CEO at Business and Arts South Africa (NPC) BASA; a public private partnership between business and government, with the aim of developing strategic partnerships between the business and arts sectors in South Africa.   Currently BASA is developing sustainable models for arts organisations, through networking, mentorship and consistent dialogue.  The organisation is engaged in advocacy and lobbying both through the media environment and also in government. 

BASA offers research and resources to its corporate members with the vision of establishing real and equitable relationships between business and the arts in South Africa. Constant's work at BASA has seen her present papers at the World Economic Forum on Arts and Culture in New Orleans, MIDEM in Cannes, the Cultural Diplomacy Conference in Spain, the African Creative Economies (ACE) Conference in Dakar, Senegal and most recently UNESCO, Paris.   She has been a columnist for numerous magazines and other publications, including GQ, the Sunday Times and Empire magazines. She currently writes a monthly column for Wanted Magazine in Business Day, and Classicfeel magazine on the relationship between business and art, and various cultural issues. 

She also continues to host a weekly lifestyle show on national radio station SAFM.    In 2002 Constant was appointed to the music advisory panel for the SA National Arts Council, which she sat on for two years.  In 2004 she was awarded Arts and Culture Trust Arts Journalist of the Year. She has served as a judge for the South African Music Awards for over a decade, facilitated various forums and MC'd at diverse events. Most recently she was invited to facilitate the international Rolex Mentor Conversations.
