Matjaž Manček is assistant manager and head of music programme of Kino Šiška Centre for Urban Culture. Manček has previously worked as a music editor of independent Radio Student, music editor of experimental electronic music label rx:tx, has established Kataman Association for production and promotion of music events and international cultural exchange projects. As musician he has played in various noise rock, free improv and experimental music projects.
Kino Šiška is a former cinema hall, renovated into multi-purpose cultural centre with two halls and exhibition space. With majority of programme being music events from rock to jazz, electronica and experimental, other programme includes contemporary dance, theatre, art movies, exhibitions, installations, residencies and other. In 4 years of its activity, Kino Šiška has hosted artists like Laibach, Florence & The Machine, The Kooks, The Cult, Jan Garbarek, Jack DeJohnette, Billy Cobham, Monolake, Caribou, Autechre, Bonobo, Mark Lanegan, Mudhoney, Tame Impala, Megadeth, Tricky and many others. From french artists, Kino Šiška has hosted Rodolphe Burger, Nouvelle Vague, Nadeah and Caravan Palace.
We are looking forward to bring more contemporary quality artist from France to Slovenia.
