Born of the merger between Berlin Partner and TSB Innovationsagentur, the new company “Berlin Partner for Business and Technology” concentrates power, creativity and expertise to advance business, technology and innovation in the capital city. We market Berlin's strengths and future-oriented opportunities on regional, national and international levels, and promote the capital's strong name with the “be Berlin” campaign.

Initiative Musik

The "Initiative Musik gGmbH" is a funding agency set up by the German federal government to promote the music industry in Germany. Its main target is to promote and strengthen rock, pop and jazz artists from Germany for their national and international career, support nationwide infrastructure projects like “Europareise” at c/o Pop, “Wunderkinder” at Reeperbahn and “German Jazz Expo” at Jazzahead. In September 2013 e.g. we awarded 55 clubs for their outstanding, last year's program.
Initiative Musik is supported by the German Collecting Society for Performance Rights (GVL) and the German Music Council. Financial support is provided by the GVL and the German Music Author's Society (GEMA/GEMA Foundation). www.initiative-musik.de

Musicboard

Musicboard

At the beginning of 2013 the Berlin Senate set up the Musicboard Berlin under the lead of Katja Lucker with an annual budget of one million euros. Its task is to strengthen the local popmusic scene by supporting projects of national and international scope which are able to enlarge the visibility of Berlin as a centre of artistic productivity also counting on the synergetic and innovative energy of the music and creative industry. The Musicboard supports professional musicians by helping with their supraregional development and tries to ameliorate the infrastructure of the local music scene. Musicians can apply for instance for scholarships to get the chance to work on new projects either in Berlin or abroad. Being a contact point Musicboard improves the transparency of already existing funding structures and provides mediation to the right contact person. www.musicboard.berlin.de

The Berlin Convention Office of visitBerlin markets the German capital as a convention destination. After London and Paris, Berlin is third-most popular European city for tourism, with 24.9 million overnight stays in the German capital during 2012. Berlin is also one of the most popular destinations for conventions and meetings and is likewise ranked third.
